A hand-thrown ceramic taper candle holder carrying a mottled reactive glaze across the entire surface, with creamy off-white and pale ash grey grounds swirled and marbled with burnt sienna, rust orange, and warm earthy brown. The glaze pools and shifts during firing, so the colour moves across the piece without repeating and no two are alike. The finish is matte-satin rather than glossy, and the gently uneven surface from throwing catches light softly across the form.
The shape pairs a short cylindrical taper socket with a wide, shallow flared drip tray, joined by a curved looped handle that extends from the socket to the edge of the tray. The whole piece rests on a sturdy tapered cylindrical pedestal. The larger size carries a taller socket and pedestal for a more elevated silhouette.
Rooted in studio pottery tradition with a warm rustic European character, the piece suits rustic farmhouse, Mediterranean, and traditional interiors, and works well on dining tables, mantels, and kitchen shelves where its earthy glaze can sit alongside natural wood and linen.
