A glossy ceramic vase in bright white, its exterior worked in raised relief with three-dimensional lemons in vivid sunny yellow, each accompanied by rich forest-green leaves and slender green stems. The fruit is formed as part of the vase body itself rather than added on, so the lemons read as sculptural volumes growing out of the ceramic surface, with the leaves and stems shaped into the same continuous form. The interior of the opening is finished in dark charcoal grey, a quiet counterpoint to the white ground that reads as depth rather than decoration.
The body is rounded, tapering gently to a short wide cylindrical neck finished with a thick rolled-over rim. The base is flat and stable, and the opening is wide enough to hold a generous arrangement of stems. The glaze is smooth and high-gloss across the whole surface, interrupted only by the relief of the fruit. Hard, sturdy ceramic throughout.
Rooted in the Italian maiolica tradition, where a bright white tin glaze is used as a ground for saturated colour, the vase brings a warm Mediterranean note to a kitchen counter, dining table, or open shelf. It sits as comfortably in a collected, lived-in interior as it does in a pared-back modern one.
