Cassandre Ceramic Teacup & Saucer

A glossy jet-black teacup and saucer, each finished with an irregular wavy scalloped rim that undulates around the edge rather than sitting flat. A single sculpted white rose is applied to the front face of the cup, its petals worked in soft relief with a matte finish that stands against the high-shine black glaze. The cup's interior is solid black, and a distinctive open heart-shaped loop handle arcs from the side.

The black surfaces are smooth and reflective, while the white rose carries defined petal ridges that catch light differently from the surrounding glaze—a tactile contrast between glossy and matte rather than a printed pattern. There is no other ornament anywhere on the cup or saucer.

Darkly romantic in character, with the drama of a Victorian parlor reworked in contemporary ceramic. Suits moody, maximalist, and dark romantic interiors, and works as a display piece on open shelving as readily as it does at the table.
