The wrapping builds repeating horizontal bands across the vertical ropes, forming an open grid geometric pattern that covers the entire face rather than sitting in a border or single motif. The contrast between the soft ivory rope and the earthy terracotta wrapping gives the surface a warm, grounded depth.

The construction is integrated rather than applied: the vertical cotton ropes form the structural core of the pillow front, and the polyester strips are tightly wrapped around each one, interlacing to build the grid directly into the surface.
